Mobility

At primal that we take mobility serious from delivering mobility workshops on the fringe of mainstream research to our weekly mobility class 'Primal Mobility'

This is because mobility is a crucial part of any act of athleticism or Sport.

Poor mobility has the ability to cripple you with pain, affect athletic performance negatively,  and cause excessive irreparable damage to the structural components of the joints.

On the other hand good mobility and end range conditioning has the ability to drastically reduce your Risk of injury, give you Functional strength in positions you didn't think possible!

But what is mobility?

Mobility and flexibility are related but two very separate things.

Flexibility is the ability for you to passively take a joint to a certain range take the lateral or box splits for example.

Flexibility in the splits would be your ability to gently ease yourself down into the splits, Mobility on the other hand would be to actively pull your leg up towards your head whilst standing it's your ability to actively achieve the splits against gravity.

So there is not just flexibility in a joint there is also large amounts of strength this is why mobility is crucial for athletic performance.

From having strong mobility in the shoulders in calisthenics for hand standing to having very good mobility in the hips for all the aerial arts and Pole for splits.
